Cherokee County Scanned Mail Change
On July 1, 2026, the detention center moved ordinary nonlegal mail to a scanned-mail process. The official Cherokee County inmate mail page is the source for the new route shown below.
Ordinary mail now goes to the booked name and inmate number at Cherokee County Detention Center, PO Box 591, Longview, TX 75606. It must include the Sheriff's booking number and a return address, with no more than five front-side-only letter-size pages and one photograph. Physical mail is destroyed after scanning. Legal and medical mail, as well as money instruments, still go to 577 Regal Street. The split is a custody communication rule, not a new public arrest database.
